Complexity and Leadership in the 21st Century

November 9th, 2018
In association with the MBA Programme at the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics

A one-day practical symposium at the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics, National University of Ireland, Galway.

‘The Challenge for Complexity and Leadership in the 21st Century’

'Leadership, complexity and development; a day of shared learning and exploration.'

The motivation for this initiative is to shift the conversation on Leadership from a focus on Personality and Behaviour to a focus on Capability, Capacity, Complexity and Development.

What can you expect from the day?

Those attending can expect to walk away inspired by:

The growth potential of your personal leadership capacity

How you can develop in the company of others

How you can impact the growth of those round you, developing them as leaders

Practical ideas for developing leadership in today’s complex environment

Creating a learning and action orientated community to bring about personal and systemic change

Lead speakers Jennifer Garvey Berger and David Rooke were involved in a similar event in London recently. Watch the video below to get a flavour of what that was like!

We are delighted to welcome some leading thinkers, writers and practitioners to lead us in this exploration:

Along with a team of experienced facilitators from the world of coaching and consultancy the day will be an exploration of the latest thinking on leadership development, complexity and ways in which development can be supported. It is hoped that arising from this, action learning groups will emerge and a follow-on discussion will happen in Cork next year and perhaps continue in future years. The symposium will take place at the J. E. Cairns School, NUI in Galway on Friday November 9th, 2018.

In addition participants are invited to join the speakers on Saturday November 10th for a reflective discussion and review of the outputs.

` Places are limited to 90, early booking is advised to avoid disappointment. Admission fee €299 euro. Early bird booking discount to €245 euro before October 19th.

Ticket price includes refreshments, light lunch and parking at the University Car Park in Dangan on the Campus.
